How I Made Weed Tampons to Stop Period Pain and Cramps

For years I took Advil and had to lay in bed for hours with a heating pad because of menstrual cramp pain.  Then I learned that Advil/ibuprofen can increase your risk of heart attack, stroke, and if you have ulcers, bleeding in the stomach or intestines. I decided to look for more natural alternatives.  I tried roll-ons with different essential oils which helped a little bit.

Then I heard about Foria’s weed tampons and tried to buy them online.  Unfortunately, because of my location, I couldn’t purchase them.  I was desperate and decided to try to make them myself.  I was really pleased with how they turned out, and using them has meant I no longer have to stay home when I have cramps and period pain.

The company Foria makes a cannabis suppository/tampon called “Foria Relief,” Frequently Asked Questions – Foria Wellness which contains organic cocoa butter, cannabis oil and CBD oil.  Foria Relief can only be purchased if you have a medical marijuana license.  A 4-pack of Foria suppositories costs $44 ($11 a suppository/tampon).  DIY weed tampons are way cheaper.

The recipe below lasted for me about a year and each suppository/tampon cost me @ $4 each with the cost of all the ingredients.

Marijuana tampons/melts activate the cannabinoid receptors in the uterus and pelvis to reduce inflammation, relax uterine muscles, and block pain receptors.  They do not get you high but will show up on a drug test.  Unless marijuana is taken in very high and large doses, it does not affect hormone levels.

To put the weed tampon/melt in just put a pillow under your hips and insert, then lay there for @ 5 minutes.  I put in a weed melt and then a regular tampon and it worked beautifully.  In less than 1/2 an hour cramps were gone and I was ready to conquer my day.  The weed tampons are frozen, but you can’t feel the coldness down there.  I wore a panty liner but only a tiny drop of the liquid came out.

I use one internally and one I rub over my stomach, and in about 20 minutes- cramps disappear.  I do not feel any “high” effect other than being slightly more relaxed.  I was worried people could smell pot on me at work, but my wife has a supersonic sense of smell and she said she couldn’t smell anything on me.

Ingredients:

2/3 c Organic cocoa butter

1/3 c Organic coconut oil

Marijuana- @ 6 grams of green bud

How to make these goodies:

Step 1 Place the bud in a sieve.  Boil water and quickly pour it over the bud to clean it.  Dry the bud with paper towels.

Step 2 Mix the bud and coconut oil in a clean jar and close it tight

Step 3 Put hot (but not boiling) water in a large bowl and place the jar in the bowl for 1 hour.

Step 4 Then, cool the jar and put it in the freezer for 12 hours.

Step 5 Next, leave the jar on the counter for 2 hours.  Again, put the jar in a bowl filled with hot (but not boiling) water.  After 1-2 hours, take out the marijuana buds and keep the oil.

Step 6 Put cocoa butter in microwave for a few seconds at a time until it melts

Step 7 Mix the cocoa butter and marijuana coconut oil well

Step 8 Pour mixture into heatproof candy mold and put in freezer covered with a freezer bag to keep the THC fresh.

The weed tampons will last about a year in the freezer.  I was a little worried when my mom decided to put a pie in my freezer but luckily, she didn’t notice the green things in my freezer. Enjoy!
